Relocate to Cheshire for countryside on your doorstep
Cheshire is home to gorgeous green spaces like Tatton Park.

If you have recently moved to Manchester, as exciting and vibrant as the UK’s second city is, you’ll be forgiven for yearning for the relaxation and downtime of a country retreat.

Lifting the lid on what Knutsford has to offer, here are our top picks in the search for green spaces that won’t leave you too far away from the bright lights of the city.

Tatton Park

Boasting an impressive 50 acres of landscaped gardens and home to one of the UK’s most complete historic estates, Tatton Park is a hot spot for couples and families searching for some respite from the weekly grind.

Embracing its natural surroundings, the estate includes a rare-breed farm and 1,000 acres of deer park, as well as being awarded green flag status for its well managed spaces.

On top of the usual goings on, Tatton hosts over 100 events a year, including the stunning RHS Flower Show. A popular alternative to its Chelsea counterpart, the show is in full flow until tomorrow, Sunday 27th July.

Tabley House

If you’re a lover of art then a visit to Tabley House is a must. Built in the 18th Century, the doors are opened to the public from April to October, showcasing artwork from the likes of Turner, Lawrence and Reynolds.

Set in sprawling parkland, the venue is a popular choice for weddings and is located just over 2 miles from Knutsford town centre, a popular destination for wine bars and great restaurants.

Battlefield Live

A fun treat during the school holidays, an adverturous stag do or even corporate team building, Knutsford is home to the infra-red gaming venue Battlefield Live.

Avoiding the painful bruises of paintballing, visitors to the site are free to explore the seven acre woodland, whilst taking part in the adrenaline-fuelled activity.

Stockley Farm

If Tatton has given you a taste for the good life, then Stockley Farm is worth a visit. You’ll find a pet’s corner, a bottle feeding session for the newest additions to the farm, along with the highly anticipated sheep racing competition, taking place each day at 2pm.

For the grown ups there is the tea room, where you can enjoy a wide selection of homemade food.

If the cobbled streets of Knutsford’s high street is more your style then keep an eye out for next week’s blog….
